Insight on Educational Mathematics is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes high-quality research articles, literature reviews, classroom action research, and scholarly works in the fields of mathematics education, mathematics learning, mathematics curriculum, educational technology in mathematics, ethnomathematics, mathematical thinking, and related areas.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two (2) independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure objectivity and fairness.

Manuscripts accepted for publication will be published online after successfully completing the editorial and peer-review process.

The journal accepts manuscripts written in English.

Plagiarism Screening

The editorial team conducts plagiarism screening using:

  • Turnitin Similarity Check;

  • Manual checking through online and offline sources;

  • Verification of references and citation consistency.

Manuscripts with indications of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical publication practices will be rejected immediately.

If minor similarity is detected, authors may be asked to revise and provide clarification before the manuscript proceeds to the review stage.

Review Workflow

1. Initial Submission

The author submits a manuscript through the journal submission system.

2. Editorial Screening

The editor evaluates the manuscript based on:

  • Relevance to the journal scope;

  • Compliance with author guidelines;

  • Completeness of required documents;

  • Basic academic quality.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal requirements may be rejected at this stage.

3. Plagiarism Check

The manuscript is screened using Turnitin and manual verification methods.

Manuscripts showing significant plagiarism or ethical concerns will be rejected.

4. Assignment to Reviewers

The editor assigns the manuscript to at least two reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic.

The review process follows a double-blind review policy.

5. Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and novelty;

  • Significance of the study;

  • Theoretical foundation;

  • Research methodology;

  • Data analysis;

  • Discussion and conclusions;

  • Contribution to mathematics education;

  • Quality of language and presentation.

6. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide:

  • Accept;

  • Minor Revision;

  • Major Revision;

  • Reject.

7. Author Revision

Authors receiving revision requests must submit the revised manuscript together with a response to reviewers.

8. Final Evaluation

The revised manuscript is evaluated by the editor and, if necessary, returned to the reviewers.

9. Acceptance and Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and online publication.

Manuscripts returned after more than three (3) months without revision may be treated as new submissions.

Research Data Policy

Insight on Educational Mathematics encourages authors to share research data to promote transparency, reproducibility, and scholarly collaboration.

The journal's research data policy includes the following provisions:

  1. Research datasets may be submitted as supplementary materials and may be considered during the peer-review process.

  2. Upon acceptance, authors are encouraged to provide supporting datasets, instruments, coding schemes, learning materials, or other relevant research resources that enhance the transparency of the study.

  3. Authors should provide a clear description of:

  • Data collection procedures;
  • Data processing methods;
  • Software or analytical tools used;
  • Any modifications from previous versions of the dataset.

  1. Research involving human participants must comply with ethical standards and ensure the confidentiality, privacy, and anonymity of participants.

  2. Data sharing must not violate institutional regulations, ethical guidelines, copyright restrictions, or personal data protection laws.

  3. Authors may include a Data Availability Statement indicating:

  • Data openly available;
  • Data available upon reasonable request;
  • Data restricted due to ethical or legal considerations.

The editorial board encourages open science practices while respecting ethical obligations and participant protection requirements.
